Trevor has been a recruitment and executive search professional working in Calgary for more than two decades. He handles a variety of senior technical engineering, geo-science, Finance and middle management and CXX roles for the energy industry.
His career as an independent businessman began right out of college, and has included experience in marketing, business development and management. He was ‘recruited’ to join a midsize search firm where he remained for 14 years and worked on more than 450 search assignments, consistently one of the company’s top producers. He recruited technical professionals for his oil and gas industry clients, but he also ‘recruited the recruiters’, identifying, recruiting and training other staff members.
In the spring of 2000, Trevor started his own executive search business, enjoyed immediate success and needed some help, so in the fall of 2001, Randy Ritchie joined the firm as his first associate. In June of 2002, the two formed Johnstone & Ritchie Professional Search Inc.
Trevor is a second-generation Calgarian. He and his wife Darcy have four adult children. He has played or coached a variety of sports teams in baseball, basketball, hockey and football and was on the board of the Ridgewood/Southland Hockey Association for more than 10 years. He and his family have also volunteered for Inn from the Cold, Christmas hampers and other opportunities at their church. He spends his free time enjoying the growing family’s varied activities such as training horses, cattle, carpentry and being ‘Padre’ to his grandson.
Randy was a founding Partner in Johnstone Ritchie. Originally from Saskatoon, a graduate of the University of Saskatchewan, he has returned there to continue his career.
As a result of working with several exceptional HR Professionals as clients and candidates, it became apparent how difficult having a single Human Capital SME to work on our client’s unique situations.
